FRASER AIRD hopes his return to Canada will help him improve as a player after a frustrating start to the season at Ibrox.
The 20-year-old penned a loan deal with MLS outfit Vancouver Whitecaps last week and he will now spend the coming months turning out in the American league system.
Aird has made just four appearances for Mark Warburton’s side this term as he dropped down the Light Blues pecking order following the arrival of a host of new players at Ibrox during the summer.
But now the Toronto-born winger is determined to make the most of a chance to kick-start his career on the other side of the Atlantic.
He said: "I'm delighted to have joined Vancouver Whitecaps FC on a season-long loan.
"Hopefully I can come in and help the team and improve as a player under Carl Robinson.
"I'm looking forward to meeting up with the group and getting started right away."
