MARK WARBURTON is pleased Rangers’ patience paid off on Saturday as they left it late to see off Falkirk at Ibrox.

Winger Billy King marked his Light Blues bow in style as he netted a last minute winner to give Warburton’s side a crucial Championship triumph against the Bairns.

The neat header from a James Tavernier cross continued Rangers’ run of scoring in every match on Warburton’s watch this term and moved the league leaders eight points clear of Hibernian at the top of the standings.

After seeing their second tier advantage whittled away late last year, Rangers have turned around their form in recent weeks and head to Stark’s Park tonight aiming to record their seventh successive win.

And the Ibrox boss is pleased his football philosophy is continuing to pay dividends as sights are set on a Premiership return.

Warburton said: “I heard people saying ‘throw it in the box’ but we haven’t got a 6ft 8in Peter Crouch - that’s not how we play football. We’ll never do that.

“If that’s what people want, they won’t get it from me and David. That’s for sure.

“There’s a right way - look after the football. Work hard to get it back and take care of it.

“When you’ve got the ball, the other team is working. So we focus on good possession and using it.

“We weren’t at our best on Saturday but they were important points for us,

“We are not thinking about what Hibs and Falkirk are thinking. That’s up to them.

“Our only business is Rangers. The best answer to anything is to keep on winning games of football.

“I’m proud of that because our goal difference is really good - it’s more than double everyone else’s. Also clean-sheets - we’ve conceded one in the last four games and that’s good for defenders.

“You saw some really good blocks on Saturday. Wes had nothing to do then pulled off two great saves. His concentration is excellent.”
