LEWIS MACLEOD is determined to continue on the road to recovery after finally making his Brentford bow on Friday night.

The former Rangers midfielder has suffered a series of injury setbacks since moving to Griffin Park last January but he was given the final eight minutes of the Bees’ 3-0 Championship defeat to Brighton.

Macleod said: “I’m happy to be back but at the same time it would have been much better if we had won the game.

“I think the boys know themselves we’re a lot better than that. Now, it’s about bouncing back and hopefully the next game we can be better.

“I could always be better but I’m just glad to be back on the pitch.

“It’s been a long 12, 13 months. I got the call, which I was delighted with and hopefully it’s a small step and in the coming weeks I can do a lot more.”
