I was not surprised to see that Hibernian didn’t line up for a guard of honour at Easter Road to mark Rangers winning the Championship title.

To be honest, I don’t think Mark Warburton or the players will be too upset. They will be more disappointed by the way the game went and the fact that they couldn’t get a win for the thousands of Rangers fans that made their way to Edinburgh.

I didn’t expect the guard of honour for one minute. It is two clubs who don’t particularly like each other and I didn’t think it was ever going to happen.

Some clubs may have done it and that is down to each individual club.

Rangers don’t need anyone else to pat them on the back. Everyone in Scotland, and Britain, can tell what we have done this season.

The players don’t need people clapping them onto the park to know what they have achieved. They know it has been a terrific season and that they are worthy winners of the Championship title.

I would have hated to have done that to be fair. If someone had come to Ibrox and we had to clap them onto the park, it wouldn’t be nice for a player.

It is not for me. Rangers don’t need that. They know how well they have done and the fans appreciate what Mark and the players have achieved this season.

I didn’t expect Hibs to do it and I don’t think it means anything. Hibs know that Rangers are the champions because they have done the business and they have been the best team over the course of the campaign.
