KENNY MILLER is confident Rangers will be fully prepared for their Scottish Cup showdown with Hibernian next month.

Mark Warburton’s side round off their Championship campaign with trips to Livingston and St Mirren this week as they bring the curtain down on their time in Scotland’s lower leagues.

The Light Blues then face a three week wait for a return to Hampden as they look to add the Scottish Cup to their league and Petrofac Training Cup titles.

While the Gers have a lengthy period out of action, Alan Stubbs’ side face a hectic schedule as they bid to clinch promotion to the Premiership via the play-offs.

Rangers fell at the final hurdle last term as they suffered a 6-1 defeat to Motherwell over two legs and were consigned to another season in the Championship.

And Miller reckons the plans in place will help Warburton’s side handle the break and allow them to be in prime shape for a shot at Scottish Cup glory.

He said: "Maybe I would prefer to have one or two games leading into it, but I think the break will do us the world of good to be honest. It's been a hectic month with seven or eight games and the break will come at the right time for us.

“We'll do the right things for it and the week leading up to the final will be a normal training week and we've obviously got a wee game organised for it right in the middle of the three weeks.

“So the rest will do us the world of good and any wee knocks or niggles we've got will hopefully be away by the time the final comes around.

"It has been [a long season]. Up until Christmas time I was in and out, but I've felt fresh in the second half of the season and I've played a lot of games of late.

“When you're playing the games we've been playing - in semi-finals, finals and winning the league, you don't really think about tiredness.

“At this stage of the season you just want to be part of the showpiece game - the Scottish Cup final and we've managed to reach it. We need to make sure we will finish on a high.

"I would say somewhere in the middle to be honest. If we had games weekday and then in weekends I don't think that would be too bad a run-up.

“But I went through it last year and it was tough when you have that amount of games. Six games in 18 days or something...it's hard going, particularly when you know what's on the line. So I would rather have ours...just."
