IAN DURRANT will take a break from football before deciding on his next career move – but insists he will be back at Ibrox this season.
The Light Blues legend left his role as Rangers’ Under-20 boss earlier this summer as manager Mark Warburton continues to put his own stamp on the Auchenhowie youth ranks.
Durrant enjoyed huge success as a player and a coach during his long association with Rangers and became a hero to the Ibrox crowd.
He will take some time to plan his next move in the game but will return to Ibrox to see his boyhood club in action in the coming months.
Durrant said: “It was a wrench to leave but I look back on it with fond memories and it was a privilege to be involved with an institution like Glasgow Rangers. The memories I have will now last me a lifetime.
“I will have a break. I am enjoying it. With the season just round the corner I will hopefully take in a few games and see what pans out.
“I am enjoying the semi-retirement, if you could call it that.
“I am enjoying life just now and it has been great having a break away from football.
“Of course they can [expect to see me back at Ibrox]. I'll be there no doubt.
“Just now I'll just let them get on and play their football, but of course I'll be there if given the opportunity if I’m not employed in football.”
