SEAN DYCHE hopes Burnley and Rangers will reap the benefits of another pre-season meeting as they get set to go head-to-head at Ibrox on Saturday.

The Clarets beat Mark Warburton’s side 1-0 in friendly action twelve months ago and went on to win the Championship title.

Now Dyche will bring his squad back north of the border as he continues his preparations for the new Premier League campaign.

It will be Rangers’ final fixture before they set their sights on the Premiership crown and the Turf Moor boss is confident the game will stand both clubs in good stead this term.

Dyche told SportTimes: “It is fantastic what Rangers have done under Warbo and his staff there. It was a great season for them.

“We had a great season ourselves, particularly in the second half of the season. Both clubs have moved in the right direction in a year and considerably so.

“From a game point of view, we really enjoyed going up there last year. It was a really good performance and it made sense to do it again this year.

“It will be down to him and his players whether they have to adapt that slightly at a higher level and in a stronger division. Likewise with ourselves to be honest.

“We have a way of playing that we think is very effective, we like to attack teams and press teams and we have scored a lot of goals and been very successful doing that. However, we might have to look at that going into the season.

“Both of us thought it was such a good game last year, not just on the pitch but the whole feeling of it. Rangers are giants in Scottish football and it was a good occasion for them and our fans.

“The feedback from going up there was fantastic and we are taking 1500, 1600 up there again, which for a pre-season friendly is a good following.”
