JORDAN ROSSITER is confident he can become a star for club and country with the help of Rangers boss Mark Warburton.

The midfielder was an integral part of the England side that reached the semi-finals of the European Under-19 Championships this summer.

Rossiter left Liverpool to make the move to Ibrox and will look to help the Light Blues clinch the Premiership title this term.

The 19-year-old also has further aspirations on the international stage as he bids to progress through the Three Lions ranks.

Rossiter said: “That was a big honour for me. It was a good tournament, we were unlucky to get beaten in the semi-final, but it was a great experience for me. It was always in the back of my mind that I wanted to join up with Rangers.

“To be honest with you, with me being a young lad I will play wherever the manager wants me to. If the manager says play deeper or a bit higher I would be happy to do so.

“The last few years I have been more defensive than attacker. I just want to do a job for the team no matter where the manager puts me.

“I like a tackle. In Liverpool most players like a tackle. That is a part of my game.

“The manager can definitely help me. He is always speaking to you, helping you out.

“He really is a gaffer that wants to help. That’s what you need in a big team.

“I wouldn’t say I’m off the radar [with England after moving here]. I am playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“People might see it like that, but it’s up to me to prove them wrong.

“I want to be part of the Under-20 World Cup next summer. It’s going to be a brilliant tournament, it’s in South Korea and I want to do well for it and hopefully I will get picked for that.”

Rossiter returned from the Euros last week and made his Ibrox bow in the 3-0 Betfred Cup win over Stranraer on Monday night.

And the former Kop kid was delighted to finally get started with Warburton’s side as the countdown continues to the new campaign.

Rossiter said: “I knew I had to go to the Euros but I would probably have preferred to come here and get started right away and go for pre-season in America. I had my obligation with them and it was a good tournament

“I had four good games under my belt on international duty. It is more catching up and settling in. It is a great group of lads.

“I have waited a long time to make my debut and it was great to finally get on. You don’t get that crowd in July time down south. It was good.”
