MARK WARBURTON has been given a welcome injury boost after striker Martyn Waghorn was ruled out for just two weeks with a hamstring injury.
The Englishman hobbled off during the Premiership opener with Hamilton Accies last weekend as the Gers drew 1-1 at Ibrox.
Waghorn could have been set for a lengthy spell in the stands if he had torn his hamstring but scans have shown that the damage is not as bad as initially feared.
Waghorn Tweeted: "Good result, not as bad as it could have been. Roughly 2 weeks out, hard work has begun to come back stronger thank u 4 the support!"
The 26-year-old missed the League Cup win over Peterhead on Tuesday night as Warburton's side set up a last eight clash with Queen of the South.
He will not be part of the Light Blues line-up that will take on Dundee on Saturday and he could also miss the visit of Motherwell on Saturday, August 20.
Rangers will then face Kilmarnock the following weekend and Waghorn will be determined to get back in action to ensure he is back up to speed ahead of the first Old Firm fixture of the season on Saturday, September 10.
