FORMER Rangers midfielder Dean Shiels has joined League of Ireland side Dundalk.
The 31-year-old spent four seasons at Ibrox and won the Third Division, League One and Championship titles as he helped the Light Blues back to the top flight of Scottish football.
Shiels made 43 appearances for Mark Warburton’s side last term but was not offered a deal to remain at Ibrox this term.
The Northern Irishman has now clinched a move to Oriel Park and said: “Delighted to have signed for the club. It’s a good club here and you can see with the way they have done in Europe they are progressing nicely.
“I want to win things. I have won trophies in Scotland and Dundalk have won trophies over the last couple of years so that’s what I have come here for. I want to win as many things as possible and the lure of European football helped too."
