JOLEON LESCOTT has signed a two-year contract with AEK Athens ten days after rejecting a move to Rangers.

The centre-back was understood to turn down a move north of the border due to family reasons after coming close to penning a deal with Mark Warburton's side.

Greek club AEK Athens today announced that the 34-year-old has left Aston Villa and signed for the Superleague outfit.

AEK finished second in the Greece's top-flight last season, but were dumped out of the Europa League by St-Etienne in the qualifers earlier this month.

Lescott, a 26-time England international, won two Premier League titles while with Manchester City in 2012 and 2014, but was relegated with Villa last season.
