JASON HOLT is confident Rangers can strike the right balance that allows them to stick to their football philosophy and pick up points in the Premiership.

Mark Warburton’s side recorded only their second league win of the season last time out as goals from Niko Kranjcar and Andy Halliday give them victory over Partick Thistle.

The Gers are fifth in the standings ahead of the clash with Inverness tonight and Holt knows they have to add another three points to their tally.

He said: “Even before the Partick game there were games which we maybe didn’t win, but the performance was actually quite good.

“When you flip that, we actually won the game against Partick without playing particularly well. I think it is about getting the right balance. Hopefully that comes on Friday.

“It is about getting the balance right, it is between getting a good level of performance and getting the three points. Ultimately, at the end of the day, three points is what you want.

“Any game you win is welcome, but we will try to do it in a certain manner.”

After missing several fixtures at the start of the campaign through injury, Holt has become a key part of Warburton’s side once again in recent weeks.

The performance of midfield partner Kranjcar was one of the main positives to emerge from the straightforward win over the Jags.

And Holt is confident there is plenty more to come from the Croatian playmaker as he looks to hit top gear at Ibrox.

He said: “I really enjoyed playing with him. Everybody knows he is a top player with the clubs he has been at. You are always learning stuff when you train with him day in, day out.

“To play with him is great as well. He brings a lot to the side. I was delighted at him getting a goal at the weekend.”
