MARK WARBURTON is pleased to see Niko Kranjcar’s efforts at Auchenhowie paying off on the park for Rangers.

The Croatian came in for criticism during a sluggish start to the season but has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks as Rangers have turned in some solid showings in the Premiership.

Kranjcar was key for the Gers as they secured a 1-0 win over Inverness Caley Thistle on Friday night and boss Warburton believes the playmaker is on the right track at Ibrox.

He said: “Niko is a lot trimmer than he was in June. Because he came in and has worked outstandingly hard.

“Every single day, he does extra. He works with nutritionists, etc.

“Kenny (Miller) and all the players do the same. It’s no fluke.

“I watch what they eat, see them in the canteen, see the work they put in.

“Niko, technically, is an outstanding player and a joy to watch.”
