JOE GARNER is determined to hit the goal trail for Rangers after a frustrating start to life at Ibrox.

The striker scored on his Old Firm debut as Mark Warburton’s side crashed to a 5-1 defeat to Celtic at Parkhead last month.

But his first half header is the only time he has found the net in six appearances for the Light Blues following his move from Preston in the summer.

Garner has added a physical edge to the Gers forward line as he has put himself about in the final third in the last few weeks.

Now the Englishman hopes he can get back on the score sheet once again to help Warburton’s side recover from a low key start to the campaign.

“Yeah, [I am] a little bit [frustrated] and I would have liked to have scored a few more goals,” Garner told RangersTV. “I will keep working hard and hopefully they come.

“I think the games we have played we have played quite well and dominated possession but we need to change that into goals.

“Having spoken with the gaffer before signing here, [Scottish football] is basically all that he said.

“Teams work very hard and every game is a cup final against Rangers. Draws are like wins for the other side against us so we need to turn those draws into three points.

“There are a lot of good, attacking players here. The gaffer makes his substitutes on 60 minutes and between the six or seven of us up there we have got a lot of options.

“In different games, the gaffer will go different ways and use different tactics to try and win the game.

“You could say [I have always played a physical game]. The Championship is a very physical league and there are some tough games and some tough opponents so that is just how I have played.”
