JON Toral hopes to create some Old Firm highlights of his own - after revealing that footage of the Rangers-Celtic match on Hogmanay convinced him he had made the right move in committing to spend the next six months of his career at Ibrox.
Mark Warburton's side have lost all three of their meetings with their historic rivals this season but the Spanish playmaker, who has concluded a six-month loan deal from Arsenal, revealed last night that he hopes to change all that - and deliver the first major trophy of the Dave King era in the Scottish Cup.
“I watched the highlights of the games before I came to get an idea of at Ibrox," said Toral. “I watched the game against Celtic. When I saw the atmosphere at Ibrox I just thought ‘wow’. It’s something I want to use in my favour. I want to deal with it and hopefully it will make me a better player. Knowing how big that fixture is and having the possibility of being involved in it is amazing. I can’t wait. I will try to help the team to do that [end their losing Old Firm run]. I am here to win every game I play."
