EDDIE HOWE reckons a loan switch to Rangers will help bring out the best in midfielder Emerson Hyndman this term.

The American has impressed in Light Blue since making the move to Ibrox on a deal until the end of the campaign.

Hyndman has two goals in two games after netting against Motherwell and Hearts in the last week.

And Bournemouth boss Howe hopes he will reap the rewards of his time north of the border.

He said: "Emerson has huge potential to be a very good player for us over a number of years. To get to that point we felt he needed to play games.

"The reason behind the Rangers move was twofold. The size of the club and the experience he will gain up there, in terms of the pressure environment and the amount of people watching him, we felt would be really good for him.

"We also felt working with Mark Warburton would do him the world of good. I've got a lot of time for Mark since his work at Brentford and how he coaches.

"There has been a lot of thought behind the move and I think he will come back a better player for it."
