FRANK DE BOER is the runaway winner of the Herald and Times poll on who Rangers should appoint as their next manager.

This week we asked readers for their thoughts on who should succeed Mark Warburton in the role after he departed Ibrox last Friday with the Gers sitting third place in the Premiership table.

Former Gers player De Boer, who represented the Light Blues in 2004, won a third of the ballot with more than 6,700 votes being counted in total.

The former Ajax and Inter boss finished a large distance ahead of his nearest challenger, Alex McLeish, who took 938 votes to De Boer's 2229.Glasgow Times:

Aberdeen's Derek McInnes finished third, with ex-Gers heroes Graeme Souness and Walter Smith completing the top five.

Under-20s boss Graeme Murty is currently in caretaker charge of the club, but support for him taking on the role permanently is limited with only 106 people backing him.
