DANNY WILSON reckons Rangers silenced their critics by taking a share of the Old Firm spoils on Sunday.

The Light Blues were written off in many quarters ahead of the fourth derby meeting of the campaign but emerged from Parkhead with a deserved point to their credit.

Clint Hill hit a dramatic late equaliser to cancel out Stuart Armstrong’s opener and ensure Graeme Murty’s stint as caretaker boss ended on a positive note.

New Ibrox boss Pedro Caixinha watched on from the stands and defender Wilson was pleased with a battling performance against Brendan Rodgers’ side.

He told RangersTV: “There was a lot written, there was a lot said about us and going into it people were saying there was going to be a record score and things like that – it was just ridiculous.

“As players we couldn’t let that happen and we went over there with a game plan and I feel like it worked and on another day we could have taken the three points.

“It felt more positive than negative after the game but it still wasn’t a win which we were looking for but we all enjoyed it and we all think this could maybe be a wee turning point for us.

“I don’t think there has ever been a time when we have not felt together as a team or squad.

“It just felt on Sunday that there was so little expected of us, rightly or wrongly, and it gave us that extra bit to shut a few people up and in the main we showed that at the weekend.”
