LEE HODSON reckons Rangers could have left Parkhead with all three points to their credit last weekend.

The Light Blues came from behind to clinch a share of the spoils as Clint Hill cancelled out Stuart Armstrong’s opener for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

After suffering three defeats in Old Firm action already this term, Rangers had a point to prove on derby day.

It was an encouraging display from the Gers as Graeme Murty’s stint as interim boss came to an end on a positive note.

And full-back Hodson believes it could have been even better if Martyn Waghorn hadn’t been foiled by in-form keeper Craig Gordon.

He told rangers.co.uk: “Going to Celtic Park was a great experience and I thought we performed well as a team. We started brightly and we were sharp and put them on the back foot, and personally I thought we could have got more out of the game.

“We could have come away with a win and looking back at the game we definitely had more clear-cut chances than they did and to be fair their keeper made two good saves off Waggy’s two attempts.

“If Waggy’s first attempt goes in we were quite dominant at that time so I think we would have kicked on and it would have put the game in a different light.

“But we are obviously pleased to have come away with a point, the lads showed great character and believed that we could get back into the game and get a point or kick on for all three.

“It is credit also to Murts for the way he set us up because we knew we could go there and if we stopped them from playing the way they want to play it would be difficult for them to get into a stride. I think we did that from the off, we went there with a game plan and it worked.”
