LEE HODSON hopes new Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha was impressed with their Parkhead performance as he gets set to make his Ibrox bow.

The Portuguese sat in the stand as Graeme Murty’s side came from behind to earn a deserved share of the Old Firm spoils last weekend.

Hodson once again turned in a solid performance for the Light Blues as he started at right-back and nullified the threat of in-form wide-man Scott Sinclair throughout the derby clash.

The Northern Irishman will hope to keep his spot when Caixinha leads the Gers for the first time against Hamilton this afternoon.

And Hodson reckons there are plenty of positives for Rangers to build on as they target a crucial Premiership win.

“I knew I needed to go there and play as well as I could,” he told rangers.co.uk

“With the new manager watching, not just me personally but all the lads gave a good performance and done well.

“I am sure he will be looking back at the game. As he said in his interview, he has looked back at the last five games to see what we can do as a team.

“On a personal note, I always think I can do a bit better and I am always critical of myself. But I was pleased with my performance.

“Scott Sinclair has been doing well, he has played in the highest leagues in England and played for big clubs.

“I knew what he was about. I have played against him before at Swansea so I knew how difficult and tricky and quick he is.

“So I had to be tight to him and not let him get the ball and face up and run at me with it.

“But it is a credit to all the lads all over the park because it didn’t start with us as a back four, it started with us defending from the front.

“Kenny (Miller), Waggy (Martyn Waghorn), the midfield, the two wingers, made it difficult for them to play, which made our job easier at the back to mark their front three.”
