PEDRO CAIXINHA hopes Rangers can become set-piece masters as he looks for further improvement from the Light Blues squad.

The Portuguese got his Ibrox reign off to a winning start on Saturday as the Gers eased to a comfortable 4-0 Premiership win against Hamilton.

After Emerson Hyndman opened the scoring with a cool finish, Clint Hill made sure of the points as he converted Jon Toral’s free-kick at the back post.

Martyn Waghorn fired home from the penalty spot before Lee Wallace rounded off a neat move with a clinical strike beyond keeper Gary Woods.

Caixinha now has a fortnight to work with his squad before the visit of Motherwell and the 46-year-old is keen to see Rangers make the most of dead ball situations.

He said: “I do believe that 40 per cent of the game are decided on set-pieces so it is important to have key players in those situations.

“But we need to also have good deliveries and the delivery from Jon was very good.

“We need to keep working on it so that we have good takers and we have good players attacking the spaces. We need to keep working on that moment of the game.”
