JOHN MacDONALD reckons Kenny Miller has done more than enough to earn himself a new Rangers deal.
The striker is out of contract at the end of the campaign but talks over fresh terms were put on hold before Pedro Caixinha’s appointment at Ibrox.
Miller helped the Portuguese get his Light Blues reign off to a winning start on Saturday as goals from Emerson Hyndman, Clint Hill, Martyn Waghorn and Lee Wallace clinched all three points against Hamilton.
And former Gers forward MacDonald believes the 37-year-old merits another deal to keep him at the club for next term.
He said: “The manager will want to assess the squad between now and the end of the season but Kenny, and Clint Hill, deserve to get a new contract.
“They have both done exceptionally well and Kenny’s experience at Rangers will be a real benefit to the squad. It is good for the younger boys to have someone like Kenny to look up to.
“He has kept himself fit and he can still play a part. He might not play as regularly next season, he might miss the midweek games or come off the bench more.
“Even if you were only getting an hour out of him, Kenny does enough in that hour to contribute to the team.”
