MIDFIELDER Jordan Thompson admits he will be hoping to catch new manager Pedro Caixinha’s attention when he trains with Rangers every Wednesday.

The Northern Ireland youth internationalist is currently involved in a Championship relegation battle on loan at Raith Rovers, but with Caixinha keen to have a look at players that have been farmed out, the 20-year-old will have a chance to push himself into the Portuguese’s plans for next term Thompson, who has made 29 appearances for Rovers so far, moved to Stark’s Park on a season-long deal last August.

Rangers team-mate Ryan Hardie also made a tempoary switch to Stark’s Park in January.

The former Manchester United trainee  said: “I’ll be going back (to Rangers) on a Wednesday for the last few weeks of the season just to be training with them and so the manager gets to see me before we break up for the end of the season.

“I’ll go back and start pre-season and hopefully get into the manager’s good books and push on.

“My aim for when I went on loan was to get games and get experience in the Championship. It’s been a positive one and I’ve done quite well. I’ve got 29 games under my belt, so it’s went well.”
