THERE will be a lot of attention on the Rangers line-up tomorrow afternoon and whether Pedro decides to go with David Bates and Myles Beerman at the back.

I would have no problems with both of them playing but, of course, they will need help and it will need to be a team effort from Rangers.

With Lee Wallace still out of action, the manager has a choice between sticking with Beerman or bringing Lee Hodson back into the side.

In the middle of the defence, if Clint Hill isn’t fit enough to start then Bates looks likely to partner Danny Wilson once again after appearing against Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and Partick Thistle.

Pedro has given the kids a chance in big games and this is the biggest one of their careers. If they do play, they are there on merit because they have done well for us.

A lot can be said about playing the experienced players, but the experienced players have been in the side all season and Rangers have lost bad goals. Now, Bates and Beerman have come in and we have kept three clean sheets in three games.

Beerman has been really impressive for a kid of just 18, while Bates has shown a bit of promise as well. He does need a bit of help at times, though.

They played against a very good Aberdeen side and handled that occasion just fine so why not throw them in tomorrow and see how they do? The only way you will find out if they are good enough is by giving them a chance.

Let’s see what their attitude and mentality is like. Can they handle an Old Firm game? Let’s hope so.
