NIKO KRANJCAR has declared himself fit for next month’s Europa League campaign after over nine months out.

The former Spurs star’s season ended in October after a serious knee cruciate injury.

He’s back in full training and previously revealed he will work with his personal trainer over Rangers’ short close season to get himself fit.

And the 81-times capped Croatian international has told Pedro Caixinha he is ready to feature in the first qualifying round of the Europa League, which starts at the end of next month.Glasgow Times:

He said: “I will be fully fit in a month and hope to be ready for the start of qualifying for the Europa League.

“We did not want to take any chances with my knee, but I have been feeling good and I have worked very, very hard.

“This feels like a new beginning for me at Rangers.”

Portuguese boss Caixinha insisted over the weekend that the ex-Portsmouth and QPR playmaker’s return would be as good as a new signing.

He said: “I do like pedigree players. He’s going to be a new player for us and he can play for sure. He has the quality, understanding and leadership.

“He is the type of player that the team can be controlled by regarding the pace and tempo of the game, the style of play we want to perform. He fits totally into Scottish football.

“He has nothing to prove as an individual but he is committed and is looking to perform at his best level for Rangers.

“I met him at the last stage of his recovery but I can tell you what a great professional he is. He is the first one to arrive at training and normally the last one to go.”
