Rangers and Celtic are on course to meet in the final of the Betfred Cup at Hampden.

The Old Firm were kept apart in last night’s semi-final draw which was
carried out minutes after Motherwell had dumped Aberdeen out of the competition.

And their reward for the 3-0 demolition was a last-four clash against
Pedro Caixinha’s Ibrox outfit. In the other semi-final, Celtic will take on Neil Lennon’s Hibs at Hampden.

The draw adds another layer of spice ahead of tomorrow’s first Glasgow derby clash of the season at Ibrox.

The prospect of taking on Rangers holds no fears for high-flying Motherwell.

A double from Louis Moult either side of a Peter Hartley strike had the home fans in ecstasy – and delighted Well gaffer Stephen Robinson.

He said: “We don’t fear anybody at this moment in time. We will go and enjoy the day but we are certainly not going to make the
numbers up.”
