TONIGHT’S match at Hamilton can’t come quickly enough for Rangers.

Not only will it offer the chance to right some wrongs from last weekend’s defeat to Celtic, but it will kickstart a much-needed change of scenery for the Ibrox squad.

Pedro Caixinha and his players fly out to Toronto on Tuesday ahead of their Eusebio Cup match on Friday night.

It can only do them good.

Once Pedro Caixinha gets the players out there he will set them all down and have a good chat with them. Even though the squad will have had a frank discussion this week, it will make a huge difference to get them all together with little distractions and sort things out.

He should do it the way Jock Wallace used to do. He’d get everybody in the one meeting, and he’d sit back and observe as the players spoke to each other about what ever issues they had. He’d only say something if he had to.

Perhaps that is just the ticket right now and the change of scenery, away from Auchenhowie, Ibrox and Glasgow, may allow the players to focus that bit better.

On top of that, there is the small matter of a game against a top Portuguese team in good form. Benfica will provide a tough test, but it’s one Rangers should be looking forward to.
