WES FODERINGHAM was pleased Rangers’ research paid off as he kept out Rakish Bingham’s penalty on Friday night.

The Light Blues keeper was beaten inside the opening minute at the SuperSeal Stadium as Danny Redmond gave Hamilton a shock lead.

But he pulled off a string of saves to help Pedro Caixinha’s side clinch a crucial 4-1 Premiership win.

Accies had a chance to set up a nervy finale when youngster Ross McCrorie fouled striker Botti Biabi and whistler Andrew Dallas pointed to the spot.

But Foderingham made a terrific stop to his left as the pre-match insight from keeper coach Jose Belman paid dividends for the Gers.

”It’s important to do your research, but listen, they can change their mind so you never know,” Foderingham told RangersTV.

“The information is there if you need it and Jose went through it with us before the game and obviously it came in handy [on Friday].

“I’ve obviously dug Ross out of a bit of a hole there, so he thanked me when he got into the dressing room.

“We do our homework and the big lad has put his last two penalties there, so it was a case of hoping that he put it there and he did.”
