CLUB 1872 have laid out the timetable for their second election process as members get set to appoint a new board.

James Blair, Laura Fawkes and Joanne Percival are the only three directors at present following a tumultuous twelve months for the organisation.

Craig Houston, William Cowie and Alex Wilson all stepped down earlier this year after Fawkes and Percival, who were later re-elected, handed in their resignations alongside Iain Leiper.

Now a new seven member board will be appointed by the end of next month as Supporters Direct and former MSP Alasdair Morrison get set to oversee the process.

Candidates have until October 22 to submit their applications and the runners and riders will be announced the following day.

Voting will open on November 13 for seven days and the result of the poll will be made public on November 22 as the second board is elected for a twelve month term.

A Club 1872 statement read: “We would welcome candidates who can commit the time and energy required to achieve the aims of Club 1872. The process, timetable and eligibility requirements are laid out below.

“Candidates should note that on election they will be appointed to the undernoted companies.

Club 1872 Shares CIC, Club 1872 Projects CIC, Club 1872 Limited and Supporters Voice Limited.

“Each company is separate and independent and candidates to become director must be willing to serve on each of the companies’ boards.”

The start of the election campaign comes a week after it was confirmed that members have voted in favour of adopting the new Articles of Association for Club 1872 Shares CIC.

But discussions are still ongoing with the Community Interest Company Regulator regarding queries that were raised during the process.

Club 1872 became the second largest shareholders in RIFC plc in June when it purchased half of the shares owned by Mike Ashley to take its total stake to 10.71 per cent.
