ALFREDO MORELOS is confident Rangers can turn the tables on Old Firm rivals Celtic this season.

The Colombian saw his derby debut end in disappointment last month as Brendan Rodgers’ side ran out comfortable winners at Ibrox.

But his form in Light Blue has been one of the main positives for boss Pedro Caixinha to take from a mixed start to the campaign.

Rangers are six points off the Premiership pace ahead of the clash with St Johnstone tonight and Morelos is keen to continue the recovery from the Old Firm reverse.

He said: "It's one of the biggest derbies in the world, a very impressive atmosphere and very nice for me as a footballer - it was something incredible.

"It is a game worth winning. We didn't manage to get a favourable result this time, but there are at least three more games against Celtic this season.

"I know we will go and get a good, positive result for Rangers.

"Being in this great institution, with its tremendous history is something that is very important for my career.

"Hopefully, I can continue to contribute a lot to the team. Playing in front of a full house is great - the fans always support the team.

"I am very happy personally with the way I have started. At Rangers, we did not start in the best way, but we had a lot of new players and hardly knew each other.

"We lost in Luxembourg, which was very bad. But it was a game where we were unlucky and they were very lucky.

"But we are close to Celtic in the league and have won our last game. We have a positive mentality and goals in our team."
