WES FODERINGHAM insists interim manager Graeme Murty has the full backing of the Ibrox dressing room after leading Rangers to back-to-back Premiership wins.

The Under-20 boss has stepped into the first team dugout for the second time following the sacking of Pedro Caixinha last month.

Murty had a six game stint in charge earlier this year as he handled the transition between the departure of Mark Warburton and Caixinha’s appointment in March.

And now he has two victories under his belt this time around after the Gers followed up their success over Hearts with a 3-0 triumph at home to Partick Thistle on Saturday.

Murty has been reluctant to publicly state his case to be considered for the top job at Ibrox as the Gers board continue their search for Caixinha’s replacement.

But keeper Foderingham believes the 42-year-old has the support from within his Rangers ranks as he gets set to handle first team affairs during the international break.

He said: “That’s not for me to decide [if a new manager comes in before the next game].

“At the minute we are doing well. As footballers we just concentrate on the matches and we are doing well in that regard.

“We’re without a permanent manager at the minute and we are winning football matches so that’s the only thing I’m concerned about.

“Graeme is a really likeable character, I think that comes across from his interviews as well.

“The fans have taken to him, the boys have taken to him, so it makes for a very positive environment.

“I mean he’s standing in at the minute, and he has the support of the boys in the dressing room but that decision is not mine to make. The boys are behind him.”

After crashing out of the Betfred Cup and drawing with Kilmarnock in Caixinha’s final two games in charge, Rangers have got back on track in the Premiership under Murty’s guidance.

Goals from Ross McCrorie, Daniel Candeias and Josh Windass clinched a comfortable win for the Light Blues as they moved to within three points of Aberdeen in the top flight standings.

And Foderingham was pleased Rangers could get another win on the board as Murty made it two from two since being asked to answer another Ibrox call of duty.

He said: “He did a fantastic job the last time he stepped in and he is continuing that now. We have had a few good results and hopefully we can continue that.

“It is the same players, the same group. He has just tried to get us all together, get us passing the football and implementing our ideas. I think that was evident [on Saturday]."
