RONALD De Boer believes his brother Frank would consider the Rangers job if it was offered to him.

The Dutchman was sacked by Crystal Palace after just four Premier League games this season and has links with the Ibrox club, having spent half a season with the Light Blues in 2004.

Frank De Boer managed Ajax for six years between 2010 and 2016, but has since had difficult spells firstly at Inter and then at Palace, spending 85 and 77 days at the clubs respectively.

With Rangers looking for a new manager after sacking Pedro Caixinha last month, former Ibrox star Ronald believes his twin brother would be willing to listen to an approach.

Speaking to BBC Scotland, he said: "The Dutch team will be one of Frank's things 'to do,' but if a big club came knocking on the door that would be very difficult to say no to.

"It would be the same with Rangers, he would think about it for sure, he had a great time there although it was a short spell.

"I don't know. Rangers is a challenge, it's a hell of a task as we have seen over the last few years that there is no stopping Celtic, so it is a challenge.

"But, I don't know if he is, at this moment, ready to take that challenge."
