Foderingham: The English keeper produced good saves in the opening exchanges of the match from Moussa Dembele, Scott Sinclair and James Forrest to keep his side level. Carried out his duties professionally thereafter without being seriously tested. 7

Tavernier: Did well to block a shot from Kieran Tierney just outside his penalty box . The right back struggled to cope with the pace of his opposite number Scott Sinclair at times. But he nearly netted with an acrobatic effort early in the second half and then set up Alfredo Morelos for goal attempts with two crosses. 7

Alves: Headed a Sinclair corner to safety in the third minute of the game. But the experienced Portuguese centre half hobbled after suffering an injury defending a Celtic attack in just the 18th minute. He was replaced by David Bates 3

Wilson: The centre half was booked by referee Bobby Madden early in the first half for a deliberate foul on Stuart Armstrong as the Celtic midfielder broke upfield at pace. But he snuffed out the threat by the Celtic attack effectively and was rewarded with a deserved clean sheet. 7

John: The left back made a searing break upfield early on, but he undid his good work by shelling the ball out of the park for a goal kick. Had a quiet afternoon thereafter. But he limited the damage which James Forrest caused down his flank. 6

McCrorie: Selected in the holding midfield role. Put in a powerful shift and could certainly not be faulted for effort. Was lucky not to be yellow carded by Madden after fouling Forrest in the first half. Required medical treatment shortly before half-time after colliding with the same player. Can be proud of his contribution. 7

Holt: Was unable to impose himself on proceedings. Toiled to cope with the physicality of Scott Brown or the skill of Armstrong in the centre of the park. He worked hard, though, to help his side snuff out any Celtic attacks. 6

Kranjcar: Another Rangers player who toiled against both Brown and Armstrong. Fortunate not to be cautioned by Madden when he deliberately handled the ball during the first half. When Brown chipped the ball over the Croat’s head in the first half it summed up his afternoon. He was replaced by Carlos Pena in the 80th minute. 4

Candeias: Brought in for Eduardo Herrera. He picked out Tavernier with a nice cross into the Celtic area in the 48th minute of the game to set up the right back for a shot. Also came close to finding Josh Windass with a ball into the Celtic area after that. Tripped by Kieran Tierney as he burst through on goal in the 82nd minute. 6

Windass: Came in for the injured Ryan Jack. Did superbly to win the ball off Mikael Lustig in the fifth minute of the game and feed Alfredo Morelos outside him. Another who ran his heart out for the duration of the game. 6

Morelos: Tested Craig Gordon with a powerful low shot in the fifth minute of the game after being supplied by Josh Windass. Stuck to his task admirably in the first half despite receiving limited service from his team mates. Unlucky not to score with two headers after being set up by Tavernier twice in the second half. 7

Substitutes

Bates: The 21-year-old Scot played with extraordinary maturity in difficult circumstances after re-placing Alves in the first half. Booked for pulling back Dembele on the hour mark. But he answered his club's call impressively. 7

Pena: Replaced Kranjcar. Hardly involved. 2

Herrera: Late replacement. Didn't have time to make a difference. 2
