GRAEME MURTY reckons Rangers could get even more out of winger Daniel Candeias after he caught the eye once again in the win over Ross County.

The Portuguese netted for the fifth time this term as he opened the scoring in Dingwall on Sunday and set Murty’s side on their way to a crucial 2-1 victory.

Striker Jason Cummings came off the bench to double the Gers’ advantage before David N’Gog netted late on for the Staggies.

And Light Blues boss Murty was pleased to see Candeias show what he can do in the final third and get his name on the score sheet.

He told RangersTV: “We have been asking him to score more goals and to get in the box more. He hit a fantastic strike and I am really pleased for him as he works so hard for the team.

“It’s nice for him to get a bit of individual recognition as well. I do think at times we can use him more and use his attributes more, and actually exploit his pace as he is really, really quick. We just need to get him to believe in himself as much as we do.

“If we can do that, he can be a real, positive find for us for the second half of the season, and then to bring on Jason Cummings, who actually moans at Daniel ironically for not setting him up, and then goes and scores a really good goal.

“That’s why you bring these people in and I am really in a fortunate position that I can go and do that. I’m pleased for us to get the win, and I’m really pleased the penalty didn’t become a critical element in the game.”
