RANGERS could look to make a move to sign Sean Goss on an extended deal at the end of the campaign.

The midfielder has quickly become an integral part of Graeme Murty’s side after signing on loan from Queens Park Rangers last month.

The Championship club have previously insisted that Goss will return south of the border at the end of the campaign but the Light Blues will consider their options this summer.

“Possibly,” Murty said when asked if Goss could remain at Rangers. “He is one of a number of players that we are looking at.

“As we have always said, the evolution of the squad never stops and we are always assessing people as to where they would fit in to what we do.

“What I will say, and the positive part of it, is that he has made a really good start and he has shown that he understands how we want to play and the pre-requisites of playing for Rangers at Ibrox. He looks quite comfortable doing that.

“QPR have said ‘you are not having him, keep your hands off’. But football situations like that tend to be quite fluid, I find.”

The deal for Goss was the first one that Murty completed in January before Jamie Murphy, Russell Martin, Jason Cummings and Greg Docherty arrived at Ibrox.

And the Gers boss is pleased with the way the former Manchester United kid has quickly adapted to life in Light Blue.

Murty said: “He kind of goes under the radar a bit because at the moment the people that are getting the headlines are Jamie Murphy, Alfredo, Josh, Daniel Candeias at times.

“They are the guys who are the flashier players but Sean brings stability to the side, he has got a lovely range of passing, he is always willing to take the ball.

“I think he has added a control to our play and pattern that we have needed. I am really pleased with his contribution so far although, and he will tell you because we had a conversation about it, I still think there is more to come from him.

“Look at the people we brought in – Sean, Russell, Jamie and Jason, who is a bit frustrated at the moment – and they haven’t had a lot of game time.

“They are enjoying being on the pitch and we have offered them that platform. It is up to the players to go and take that opportunity and run with it as much as they can.

“I think all of the players I have mentioned have tried to maximise their game time and enjoy it and I am reaping the benefits of these guys becoming fitter, fitting into our method of doing things and they have really enhanced what we are trying to do.”
