KENNY MILLER must start the Scottish Cup semi-final for Rangers against Celtic on Sunday, according to David Weir.

Weir believes the experience of his former teammate will be invaluable in such an important match, but that his goalscoring prowess will be equally as crucial at Hampden.

Miller made a goalscoring return to the Rangers starting line-up last weekend against Dundee, and Weir has no doubts that even at the age of 38, Miller can be the man who makes the difference for the Ibrox side.

“I would start Kenny, definitely,” said Weir. “Not just because of his temperament, but because of his ability as well.

“Kenny is getting on in years, and nobody knows about that more than me in terms of playing in games and what’s associated with that, the downsides and the upsides.

“His experience is incredible in terms of both what these games involve and what’s needed at certain times on the pitch, so I think that’s invaluable and he can be a massive part of Rangers being successful in the game.”
