JAK ALNWICK insists he hasn’t thought about his Ibrox future as he gets set for his first Parkhead outing.

The keeper is poised to start against Celtic tomorrow as Graeme Murty’s side look to deny their Old Firm rivals the Premiership title.

Former Gers shot-stopper Allan McGregor is close to clinching a return to the club.

But Alnwick is only focused on the here and now and not what next season could hold.

He said: “Everyone wants to give individual performances but collectively as a team you want to go down as a top Rangers team. No matter what is going on off the pitch.

“I have had no thoughts [about next season], it is just about this season and playing and giving my best.

“Whatever happens happens but there have been no talks or anything like that yet. It is just speculation.

“When you are at big clubs, you are always going to be linked with players the whole time.

“It’s part and parcel of this game that we are in.

“There are always players going to be coming in and always players going out.

“There are no guarantees in football. We don’t know who is going to be here next year, who is coming in and we just have to perform until the end of the season to give our fans something to shout about.

“We will always be linked. Look at someone like Bruno [Alves] who was brought in, he’s won the Euros.

“Players like that with all the trophies they have won in the past, it’s all going to be competition.

“For this club to be linked with big names is always a good sign.”
