GRAHAM DORRANS became the ninth signing of the summer for Rangers last week and he has arrived at Ibrox with a great reputation from his time south of the border.

He was highly thought of at West Bromwich Albion and Norwich and he is an international player as well. He ticks a lot of boxes for Rangers.

Graham is a Rangers man but more importantly he is a good footballer and he will add quality to the team in the middle of the park.

Everyone knows what it meant for Andy Halliday to pull on the jersey and it was great to see him fulfilling that dream. But being able to play at the required level is more important.

Graham Dorrans has proven that over a number of years and there were a few English clubs that he could have joined this summer. He wanted to come home and play for Rangers, though.

The difference between Graham and Andy is that Graham has shown what he can do over a number of years in England and has proved his ability at international level as well.

I think he could have a huge influence for us in midfield. He can play a number of different roles in there and he has great experience as well.

He knows what Rangers is all about, he will understand the expectations from the supporters and he realises what he has signed up for this season.

At 30, he has plenty of football left in him and hopefully he turns out to be a really good bit of business for Rangers.
