RANGERS legend Derek Johnstone says fans should be confident that the Ibrox board will get it right over their choice of a new manager and that there is no need for a panic fix.

“I think the last few appointments have appeared rushed, almost like there was only ever one person in the frame, instead of seeing who was available and who might be out there. That shouldn’t happen this time because Rangers have had a month to look at all the candidates.

“While McInnes remains the fans choice, I’ve been impressed with other names linked to the job, but Rangers need to get the selection right.”
