RANGERS could face yet more turmoil - Mexican misfit Carlos Pena could be on his way back after Pedro Caixinha admitted he is considering ripping up his loan deal six months early because he was caught buying beer after training.

And the ex-Ibrox boss, who is now in charge of Mexico City club Cruz Azul, insisted he's rapidly running out of patience with the 28-year-old midfielder.

Pena - who is the second highest earning player in Mexican football - was plastered over the media in his homeland after being spotted buying a six-pack of beer immediately after training while wearing his club's kit.

Former Rangers manager Caixinha was quizzed about the incident and admitted sending him back to parent club Rangers is an option....even though he is under a loan contract with Cruz Azul until the end of 2018.

Caixinha has twice signed the Mexican international, but accepted he has a huge decision to make.

He said: "I'm here to change things at this club and one of those things is discipline.

"Carlos should know that sometimes in life, people don't get a chance like he has had...and certainly not two.

"The mentality we want here is players who know what it takes to become and behave like a professional footballer.

"So I have to decide what intervention to take with him. These range from a variety of fines or we can end his contract now.

"He is under contract until the end of the year, but in extreme cases, we can call it off and say to him 'thank you Carlos and goodbye.'

"That's a decision I will have to make."

Rangers were rocked this week after captain Lee Wallace and veteran striker Kenny Miller were suspended by the club after a bust-up following a disastrous Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final capitulation to Celtic.

And players Andy Halliday and Daniel Candeias made their displeasure publicly known after being subbed in the Hampden hammering.

Surely the last thing they would need is the return of Pena, who still has over two years of his contract remaining at Ibrox.
