CRAIG LEVEIN was frustrated Hearts couldn’t ask more questions of an under-fire Rangers as they went down 2-1 at Ibrox.

Second half goals from Jason Cummings and Daniel Candeias proved enough for Graeme Murty’s side.

Christophe Berra had given Hearts a flicker of hope as he headed home a Don Cowie free-kick.

But it was an opportunity missed for the Jambos as they failed to pile the pressure on Rangers following their Old Firm defeat to Celtic last weekend.

Levein said: “It’s disappointing to lose any game but even more disappointing was our inability to keep possession of the ball.

“We gave it up too easily, particularly in the first half, even though we managed to frustrate them and limit them to very few chances.

“The shape of the team was good. We frustrated Rangers and that was the plan.

“Then we wanted to counter with speed and accuracy but we had neither of those of those things on the counter attack. All we did was frustrate Rangers but not much more than that.

“We were slightly better in the second half but i still don’t think we passed the ball well enough.

“I think we came here thinking we had a chance of winning the game but we didn’t pass the ball quickly enough.

“If we had done that, I felt we would have got more opportunities.

“Any time we showed any quality in the last third of the park - Don’s free kick, Lewis Moore put a great ball into the box and Kyle (Lafferty) had a good shot - it all resulted in possibilities of us scoring a couple of goals.”
