HAMILTON boss Billy Reid is aiming to tie down an SPL striker on loan before his side face Cowdenbeath tomorrow.
The Lanarkshire gaffer last week completed a deal to sign midfielder Gary Fisher on a temporary deal from Kilmarnock and is also keen to land St Johnstone youngster Stevie May to bolster his attacking options.
Accies head to Central Park having collected just one point from their opening two Irn-Bru First Division fixtures and without injured defender Martin Canning and skipper Alex Neil, following his red card in the 1-1 draw with Morton.
There could, however, be a new face in Reid's squad if he can force through a deal in time to land his mystery striker.
He said: "Stevie May is a player we have had our eye on for a while, and I would like to think we could do something to bring him in on loan.
"I don't expect anything imminent with him. We might have someone in for tomorrow, but it won't be Stevie May.
"We are still in talks, but I am hopeful a deal can be done."
