Rovers hit the target for Todd

Albion Rovers got the back-to-back victories manager Todd Lumsden had been craving as a debut goal from Partick loanee Mark McGuigan secured a 2-1 win over Stranraer.

Lumsden challenged his players to get six points out of six and is now happier after a poor start to the campaign.

"Although it was a disappointing start, we weren't a million miles away," he said. "I had set them this target, they have responded, and I'm delighted we've managed it."

After a goalless first half, Rovers' Jason Crooks put his side in front shortly after the break when he got on the end of a curling free-kick to head home.

Stranraer were level soon after, however, as Chris Aitken finished off a good team move, but McGuigan soon secured the Albion win, drilling the ball home after a terrific individual effort from Tony Stevenson left him in a good position.
