GLASGOW’S new star Simone Favaro is ready to feel the passion of the Warrior Nation when he finally arrives in Scotland.

The man from Italy has penned a two-year deal with the Guinness PRO12 champions after joining from Benetton Treviso.

Currently focusing on international duty – the flanker who has 24 caps to his name – is relishing the prospect of his first World Cup this Autumn.

However, he admits his final destination of Glasgow next season has got him itching to get going under Gregor Townsend.

He told WarriorsHQ: "I love Scotland because I feel it's similar to where I come from in north-east Italy. We are proud people and the Scottish people are like that, too. They are so proud of their country.

“I love their accent as it is strong and you can feel the passion when Scottish people talk. I'm joining a club who have just won the Guinness PRO12 and it's a very competitive club.

“They were a competitive team in the European Rugby Champions Cup last season, so I'm coming here to win something and I know that this is the club for me."
