GLASGOW Warriors forwards Djustice Sears-Duru and Brian Alainu'uese will make their first starts for the club in Saturday's PRO12 clash with Scarlets.
New Zealand-born lock Alainu'uese made his debut from the bench in during last weekend's 31-14 win over Treviso, while Canadian international prop Sears-Duru has featured as a substitute on three occasions.
The pair have been given an opportunity from the start for the trip to South Wales, with Gregor Townsend's options also boosted by a number of Scotland players being released from international duty.
Rob Harley, Peter Horne, Tim Swinson, Mark Bennett, Ali Price, Rory HUghes and Nick Grigg all start after spending the week training with Vern Cotter's squad ahead of next Saturday's opening Autumn International against Australia.
Townsend said: “Djustice Sears-Duru and Brian Alainu’uese have an opportunity to start tomorrow, while Jamie Bhatti has spent a lot of time in and around the squad and has been playing regularly for Melrose, so we’re excited to see what he can do in a Warriors shirt if he comes off the bench.
“It’s extremely tight at the top of the Guinness PRO12 and we expect Scarlets to be challenging for a Play-Off place come the end of the season, so we know we’ll need to be at our best for the full eighty minutes to come away with a positive result.
“International windows provide challenges, but we’ve been really impressed with how the players have trained this week. It’s been great to have club players Stafford McDowall and Adam Nicol training with us, along with all of the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy group, with three of them included in the squad tomorrow night.”
The game will be shown live on BBC Alba on Saturday with a 7:35pm kick-off time.
Glasgow currently top the PRO12 table with five wins from seven games, nine points clear of seventh-place Scarlets.
