GLASGOW forwards Gordon Reid and Ryan Wilson plus scrum-half Ali Price are in the Scotland team to play Wales at Murrayfield tomorrow - helping bring the total number of Warriors players in the starting line-up to TEN.

The prop and the No 8 are among the five changes from the team that began the defeat by France two weeks ago, replacing Allan Dell and the injured Josh Strauss. Price is at scrum-half instead of captain Greig Laidlaw, who has been ruled out of the rest of the Six Nations Championship with ankle damage.

John Hardie is preferred to Hamish Watson at openside, and Tim Visser is on the wing instead of Sean Maitland, who has a rib problem. Ex-Warrior John Barclay takes over as skipper.

Glasgow joint captain Henry Pyrgos comes on to the bench and will take over from Price at some stage. Tim Swinson and Mark Bennett are also among the substitutes and take the total number of Warriors players in the squad to 13.

The addition of Reid and Wilson to the team should make the pack more solid in defence, while head coach Vern Cotter expects the replacements to play a big part in the battle to get back to winning ways.

“Gordon Reid makes it an all-Glasgow front row and we have an all-Edinburgh one on the bench,” Cotter said after naming his team. “Tim has been coming on and doing a great job, and Henry can come off the bench and he brings leadership if we need that. We have Duncan and Mark, so it’s about making sure we get access into the game to try and stay there to get the result..

“Wales have been a better second-half team up until now. So the bench has been very important to us.”

Barclay took over as captain against the French when Laidlaw had to go off injured, and Cotter saw no reason to change that for this match. “Experience and good leadership qualities,” the coach said when asked why he had gone for the Wales-based flanker as captain. “It was pretty easy really.”
