MARK BENNETT has played his last game for Glasgow Warriors after the club confirmed on Wednesday that he will be out for up to a year through injury.

The Scotland international was forced off during his country's defeat to England in the Six Nations last month and is expected to be sidelined for nine to 12 months.

Bennett has undergone ACL reconstruction in hospital in Glasgow and won't feature again for the Scotstoun ouftit, having already agreed a switch to Edinburgh for next season.

Another Scotland star who could have pulled on a Warriors shirt for the last time is back-rower Josh Strauss, who requires six weeks of non-contact work before he can make his return from a kidney injury picked up in February's defeat to France.

Both players will be present at Friday's league game against Zebre, where fans will get the opportunity to show their appreciation.

"We're disappointed that Mark's time at the club has come to an end in this way, and it also looks like Josh may not play for us again as he continues his graduated return to training," said Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend

"We wish both players all the best with their rehab and look forward to having them as part of our wider group for the remainder of the season."
