GLASGOW WARRIORS have announced the capture of New Zealand winger Lelia Masaga from the Chiefs.

The Super Rugby title winner has penned a two-year contract at Scotstoun and becomes incoming head coach Dave Rennie's fifth signing of the summer.

Masaga won two Super Rugby titles under Rennie at the Chiefs in 2012 and 2013 and will check into Glasgow at the end of the club season in August.

The 32-year-old has been capped by the All Blacks and follows Huw Jones, Callum Gibbins, Oli Kebble and Adam Hastings in joining the Pro12 club ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

“I'm excited to be joining my new club Glasgow Warriors in August," he told glasgowwarriors.org.

“I'm looking forward to being there under Dave Rennie as head coach, to be part of a great team of players and to meet all the fans who support the club.

“I can't wait to start this new journey in Scotland.”

Incoming Warriors assistant coach Jason O'Halloran added: “Lelia is an experienced and powerful player who has proven himself at the highest level in Super Rugby.

“He knows Dave (Rennie) well through their time together at the Chiefs and will be an excellent addition to our squad.”

Warriors ended the campaign with defeat to Edinburgh last weekend but secured a Champions Cup spot for next season with a sixth-placed finish in the Pro12.
