GREGOR Townsend has made six changes to his Scotland lineup for Sunday's Six Nations clash with France at Murrayfield.

The Scots began their campaign with an abject 34-7 defeat to Wales in Cardiff last Saturday and the head coach has rung the changes in response.

Greig Laidlaw returns at scrum-half to make his first international start since being injured in the corresponding fixture last year, replacing Ali Price who drops to the bench.

Peter Horne comes in for Chris Harris, with Huw Jones moving to outside centre and his Glasgow Warriors teammate lining up at number 12.

The final change in the back division sees Sean Maitland step in for the injured Byron McGuigan on the wing.

In the pack, lock Grant Gilchrist and number eight Ryan Wilson come into the team in place of Ben Toolis and Cornell Du Preez, while Edinburgh prop Berghan returns from a six-week suspension to replace Jon Welsh.

Uncapped Edinburgh youngster Blair Kinghorn is among the substitutes along with Worcester back-row David Denton.

Sunday's game kicks off at 3pm in Edinburgh.

Townsend said: “As a group we’re delighted to be playing at home in front of another sell-out crowd at BT Murrayfield and are looking forward to putting in a performance that can energise our supporters.

“To do that we need to out-work the opposition and be more accurate in a number of aspects of our play.

“We’ve seen a response from the players in training this week and that needs to continue into and through the 80-plus minutes of the match because France will pose a massive and immensely-physical challenge.”
