BROTHERS Richie and Jonny Gray will start a Scotland match together for the first time when they face Argentina at BT Murrayfield tomorrow.

The Test will be a second cap for 20-year-old Jonny, who is one of 10 Glasgow Warriors in the XV named by Vern Cotter.

He will be joined in the second row by 25-year-old Richie as the British and Irish Lions star makes his 40th appearance for his country.

Head coach Cotter will also give an international debut to Glasgow's 21-year-old outside-centre Mark Bennett, whom he worked alongside during his year-long stint in France with Clermont Auvergne.

The New Zealander admitted that selecting him had been an easy decision to make.

He said: "I really appreciate what Mark has done because he's been very patient and has been developing his performances week in, week out for Warriors.

"Patience and working hard is what you want from players.

"You can see his determination in the way he breaks the line and scores tries.

"I'm really pleased he has developed that over the last couple of years and will now make his debut for his country, which is a very special achievement."

Cotter continued: "We have selected a group we believe can do the job against Argentina. We have looked for people with the ability to control games, take the initiative and pick up the ball and run with it, who like physical confrontation and can keep the ball alive.

"These are things we have prioritised in our selection.

"Now we are all looking forward to getting out there and putting in a good performance in front of the Scottish fans."

Joining the Gray brothers in the pack is the experienced front-row trio of Alasdair Dickinson, Ross Ford and Euan Murray.

The forwards are completed by a new-look back-row combination, with flankers Rob Harley and Blair Cowan forming a unit with No. 8 Adam Ashe for the first time.

Glasgow Warriors supply six of the seven starting backs, the exception being Gloucester's Greig Laidlaw, who will captain the side. His half-back parter will be Finn Russell at stand-off, with Alex Dunbar and the debutant Bennett in midfield.

Scotland's starting line-up is completed by a back three of Stuart Hogg, Sean Maitland and Tommy Seymour, who will be looking to replicate their superb Warriors' form of this season.

Cotter emphasised that his players will be encouraged to attack the Pumas from the off.

He explained: "We want to have the confidence to take the initiative against Argentina, who are arguably the most improved team in the world.

"We will try to put a cohesive effort out there both technically and tactically.

"So let's be strong, let's be passionate, as we always are, and play for the people who come to the stadium and the Scots in this country and around the world."
